There are not many appealing attractions in Martin, in fact there are none at all. However, if, when you arrived in Martin, you thought ahead, and rented a car, the day is saved, because there are plenty of interesting things to see and places to visit, in the nearby communities.

Martin's beautiful Reelfoot Lake, known to be one of the best hunting and fishing preserves in the country, a wonderful and rich-in-wildlife piece of nature, that encompasses 25,000 acres, home to almost every kind of shore and wading bird, including the Golden and American Bald Eagles.

The lake provides the perfect nature getaway setting, where one can relax and escape the noisy and busy city life.

Obion County Museum, located in nearby Union City, which was founded in 1970, featuring an ever changing array of displays and exhibits designed to appeal to all ages, revealing Obion County's past to visitors and giving lifelong residents the chance to reminisce about their past.

Discovery Park of America, which can also be found in Union City, a 50-acre education and entertainment complex for adults and children, alike.

The museum is actually a project in progress, but it is scheduled to be open in August, 2010, and promises exhibits focused on areas such as Regional History, Native Americans, Science and Space, Children’s Exploration, Military History and many other, shortly said, it will reveal all historical and cultural aspects of the American country and will showcase the world that surrounds us through interesting, thriving and eye-catching exhibits.
