Getting around in Grand Forks, ND

Grand Forks, ND is accessible by 2 major highways: U.S. Highway 2, which runs west and east, and Interstate 29, which runs south and north. There are also Amtrak services, which operate daily, as well as interstate bus service, provided by the Triangle bus lines and by Greyhound Company that will take you in or near Grand Forks City. Inside the city, people travel by bus, provided by The Cities Area Transit, also known as CAT, which offers their services to Grand Forks City, as well as East Grand Forks, from Monday through Saturday.

 

You can also walk your way inside the city, but this is a convenient option if you don't have to travel far from your hotel in Grand Forks. How to get to University of North Dakota?

Easy! Just follow the driving directions listed below!

 

From North: Take I-29, and when you reach exit 141, make a left. Proceed to Columbia Road, and turn right on Columbia. Pass the Ralph Englestad Arena and the Barnes and Noble, which are situated on your right, and continue, to University Ave, which is situated about 2 blocks from this point. Make a right on University, and you will see Swanson Hall, somewhere on your left. The Union is located right next to Swanson Hall, to the west. Make a left an entre the parking lot, located in front of Memorial Union.

 

From South: Take I-29, and when you reach exit 140, turn right and proceed to 42nd Street. Make a left and continue to University Avenue. Make a right and proceed east on University Avenue, passing under the glass walkway. The Union is located 4 blocks down the road, across the International Center and Hamline Street.

 

From East: Take Hwy 2 east, which turns into Gateway Drive, inside the city. Proceed to Columbia Road, and turn left on Columbia. Continue driving on Columbia, passing the Ralph Englestad Arena and Barnes and Noble, which are situated on your right. Continue south, to University Avenue, which is situated 2 blocks from here. Make a right on University, and you will see Swanson Hall on your left. The Union is located right next to Swanson Hall to the West. Turn left into the parking lot located in front of Memorial Union.

 

From West: Same driving directions as from the east, except the fact that you have to make a right on Columbia, instead of a left.
