Ashfall Fossil Beds State Historical Park, a fossil site left intact for public viewing, where visitors can see over 200 fossil skeletons from 12 species of Clarendonian Land Mammal Age.

Garden Details - three acres of flowers and display gardens on this picturesque location in the country located three miles south of Wayne on Highway 15. The garden features flowering perennials, including Asiatic lilies and various wildflowers.

Fred G. Dale Planetarium, located on he Wayne State College campus in the Carhart Science Building (south entrance). A series of programs is held during the year on Sunday afternoons, beginning in November.

Wayne County Museum, housed in the Rollie Ley mansion, built in the 1890s.The museum features a clock that was used in the first Wayne County Courthouse at LaPorte. Other items include a desk designed for the Chicago World's Fair in 1893 and memorabilia from several historical wars.

The basement is stocked full of farm-related and primitive items from around the area.

Annual Events

Wayne Chicken Show is a fun event, held every year, on the 2nd Saturday in July, and represents Wayne's premier annual event, and one of the features for which the city is best known.

It is a popular celebration that attracts numerous enthusiastic visitors, every time it takes place.

The event's highlights include a National Cluck-Off, World's Largest Chicken Dance, children's games, kite flying, fireworks and live entertainment.
