>> Visit the University of Northern Iowa Museum, which can be found on Hudson Road, one of only 5 major natural history museums in the state, featuring a vast collection of more than 110 000 objects, offering exhibits, lectures, travelling exhibitions and many other special events and programs.

 

>> Take one of the Dubuque River Rides, from E 3rd Street, featuring amazingly beautiful surroundings that catch the eye, including a rich wildlife, with seagulls, turtles, Bald Eagles and many more other fantastic attractions - don't forget to bring your camera, while taking the cruise!

 

Sports & outdoor events

One of the most popular, favorite and expected annual sporting events in Cedar Falls is considered to be the Sturgis Falls Half Marathon, which happens in June.

 

This fun and scenic race attracts hundreds of enthusiasts, annually, taking them on a fast and flat course which starts at the Cedar Falls Recreation Center at the corner of 13th and Main Streets, continuing on the nearby Cedar River Trail, revealing some of the most scenic and beautiful areas in the city.

 

In 2010, the event will be celebrating its 31st anniversary, and it will organized by the Cedar River Runners Club, the main sponsor of the race.

Cedar Falls' nightlife scene is not as appealing as in the other much larger cities in the US state of Iowa, but there are several places where you can spend a fun night out with friends, and enjoy yourself.

 

Among the most popular and favorite nightspots in Cedar Falls, there are: Berk's, situated on Parkade, the Blue Room, located on Main Street, Indulgence, the Reverb, the Liquid Lounge and LB's Lounge, also located on Main Street, Jokers Club & Grill, on McClain Drive, the Panther Lounge situated on E 18th Street, The Back Alley Bar, on W 4 Street, and the Ice Ultra Lounge, situated on College Street.
