Sports & outdoor events

On the list of popular annual sporting events in Durham, we find the Annual Todd's Trot, which consists of a 5k fun run, representing a community-based, family-oriented event, in which all proceeds go to the Peter `Todd` Heuchling Scholarship fund. The event will be kept on April 10th, in 2010, and it will be hosted by Oyster River High School.

Nightlife

Due to the fact that Durham, NH is home of University of New Hampshire, the city has a "young" nightlife scene, with plenty of great locals bars, pubs, restaurants and clubs, most of them located in the center of the town.

 

Libby's Bar and Grill seems to be the favorite meeting place, especially for local youngsters and students, who come here for the great selection of beer on tap, as well as for the delicious seafood and steaks.

 

The best night to party at Libby's, is considered to be on a Tuesday night, when local bands usually fire up the atmosphere, in the large dancehall downstairs.

 

Murphy's Tin Palace is considered to be among the most popular downtown spots in Durham, having the best draft beers in town.

 

The best nights to have fun at Murphy's is on Wednesday nights, which is actually Irish night here, with traditional Irish bands playing, and lots of beer available.
