The National Center for Atmospheric Research, located on Table Mesa Drive, is a great free attraction in Boulder, Co. Take the tours available at noon, on Monday and Wednesday, and get interesting information about the weather and climate around the world.

 

Visit Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art, down on 13th Street, and see exhibits of modern art, created by local, national and international artists.

 

Spend a wonderful day with the family at the Gateway Park Fun Center, located on North 28th Street, where you will find miniature golf courses, fun rides and a full arcade. While the children play, adults can take advantage of the batting cage available.

 

Taste a bit of the local history at the Boulder History Museum, a historic Victorian building, situated on Euclid Avenue, where you will be able to see the tools that were used by the gold diggers and exhibits of clothing from past periods.

The BolderBOULDER 10k Road Race is an annual event happening in May, on Memorial Day. More than 50 000 participants are signing up every year to run and walk in this exciting 10 k race that attracts over 80 000 spectators.

 

The entertainment is provided by music bands during the race, including the BolderBOULDER Bootlegs Volume Seven CD.

 

Since 2007, the participants are timed using timing tag technology from IPICO Sports, and only the finishers who are wearing the BolderBoulder timing tag on their shoes are able to claim their awards.

 

The Annual 10k race is a fun event, perfect for the entire family, especially for sport lovers.

 

Festivals

 

The annual festivals that are taking place in Boulder include the Annual Aerial Dance Festival, the Boulder Creek Hometown Fair and Boulder Asian Festival, the Chocolate Lover's Fling and many other fun, family events.

 

The Annual Aerial Dance Festival, taking place in August, is a great opportunity for people to experience the excitement of watching professional aerial dancers doing what they know best, this fun and exciting event consisting of 2 weeks of classes, demonstrations, lectures and performances.

 

The Boulder Creek Hometown Fair is also a popular annual event, celebrated in September, featuring arts & crafts exhibitions, live performances, good food, great beer and many fun activities and attractions, such as carnival rides, the Great Zucchini Race, Big Wheel 300 races and a Fire/Rescue Safety Expo.

 

Visitors can spend quality family time at the Annual Boulder Asian Festival, happening in August, where they can learn more about the Asian culture through interesting exhibitions, including music, dance, traditional art performances, food and crafts. This free event, open to the public, has combined the Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Indian, Hawaiian, Filipino and Thai cultures, putting together a great show, one of the most popular free annual events in Boulder.
