Drew County Museum, featuring displays of artifacts and antiques that reveal the local lifestyle as early as from the 1800's.

Yazoo National Wildlife Refuge, located in nearby Hollandale, MS, approximately 2 hours from Monticello. The Yazoo National Wildlife Refuge is the oldest national wildlife refuge in the State of Mississippi, and it is home to a healthy population of American alligators, a reptile species whose ancestry can be traced back to the age of the dinosaur.

Arkansas Post Museum, which can be found in Gillett, AR, which is one hour, by car, from Monticello, a complex of five exhibit buildings that reveal the history and life of Arkansas's Grand Prairie and Delta. The 1933 Carnes-Bonner Playhouse, one of the museum's 5 buildings, is a miniature built-to-scale version of the Carnes' family home and features displays of children's furnishings, accessories, and toys.

Pomeroy Planetarium, which can be found on the University of Arkansas-Monticello campus, featuring presentations, and educational programs that take students and visitors on ''a spin'', through the intriguing and interesting world of astronomy. Telescopes are also available (weather permitting).

The Turner Neal Museum of Natural History, which can also be found on UA Monticello's campus, and which contains Pomeroy Planetarium, featuring exhibits that include invertebrates, fishes, amphibians, reptiles, birds, mammals, fossils, minerals, and plants.
