The Annual Road Runner Akron Marathon, Half Marathon and Relay, happening in September, was founded by Steven L. Marks, the co-CEO and co-founder of Main Street Gourmet, who is trying to transform the marathon in a signature event of Akron City, and it is a popular sporting event, of which goal is to benefit charities throughout the great Akron community.

 

Thousands of runners participate in the race, and more people join every year, filling the streets of Akron City, starting at the Lockheed Martin Airdock, and finishing at Canal Park at Main and State Streets, downtown Akron.

 

Festivals

One of the most popular and enjoyed festivals in Akron City is the Annual Akron Summer Music Festival, consisting of an entertaining summer concert series, featuring showcases of young rising artists, breaking the barrier between the performer and the audience, trying to promote the growth of young musicians, supporting the future generations of musicians from Ohio.
