Murphree Park - The park is located on the street in Troy, Alabama with the same name: Murphree Street. It continued to grow in size and popularity since it was opened, in the spring of 1991. Bikers, roller-bladers and joggers often visit the park. The park contains eight softball fields, where softball leagues and baseball tournaments often take place.

 

Johnson Center for the Arts - Tours, exhibits and different programs are available at the center. It is part of the Troy-Pike Cultural Arts Complex and it is a public, non-profit facility. Tourists can admire here art exhibitions and be part of several educational events and art-related activities. The center can be visited at 300 West Walnut, Troy, Alabama.

 

Troy University - It is the most visited attraction in the city, usually by youngsters interested in learning here. The University welcomes anyone who wishes to learn more about it by taking a tour across the university's campus.

 

Sports & outdoor events

Troy Sportsplex contains 4 soccer fields, 8 baseball and softball fields, a 2 mile walking trail, and 8 batting cages. It is a part of Troy Park and Recreation center. It is a place where locals and visitors alike come to relax and have a fun day with friends or family.

 

Another fun place in Troy is considered to be Troy MVP Training Center, where youngsters can train and improve their baseball and softball skills. Festivals

TroyFest is a fine art and crafts festival, held downtown Troy. It is a much appreciated attraction among tourists and locals. Visitors can enjoy food, art and activities for all ages. The festival is held in honor of Jean Thompson, a woman that lived in Troy years ago, considered to be a very talented artist. Another annual festival held in Troy is the Annual Christmas Parade. Families and visitors are gathering downtown Troy to have fun and admire antique cars and different vehicles, or to be a part of the tree lighting ceremony. Visitors should know that the event is free of charge.

Double Branch Lounge, located at Highway 231 Byp, is a very popular night spot among locals. It is considered to be the perfect place for a guaranteed hangover. It is open all night and the best DJs are responsible with the entertainment.
