Burnaby Village Museum, established in 1971 as a civic project named ''Heritage Village'' to celebrate the centennial of the confederation of British Columbia with Canada. The Burnaby Village Museum is a community museum with a ''heritage village'' setting that depicts life in Burnaby in a 1920s. The museum site covers approximately 10 acres within Deer Lake Park and consists of an outdoor museum village with 34 period exhibits, an operating 1912 carousel, gift shop, and restaurant.

Burnaby Art Gallery. This year's exhibition includes drawings and prints by some of Canada's most engaging and prolific artists: Bruno Bobak, Aganetha Dyck, B.C. Binning, Jack Shadbolt, Carel Moiseiwitsch, Robert Young, Ina Uhtoff, Susan Gold, Ann Kipling, Joe Plaskett and Alistair Bell.

The Burnaby Blues and Roots Festival represents, perhaps, the premier annual event in Burnaby.

This fun, music-filled celebration takes place in Burnaby's picturesque Deer Lake Park, in August, and offers something for the enjoyment of everybody, the festival being a family-friendly event with a variety of children's activities, including ''Art's Home'' - a kid's arts activity zone, also featuring renowned musicians from across North America and around the world.
