Annual Events

This year, in May, South Orange housed the 1st Annual South Mountain Reservation Mayapple Festival, which was sponsored by the South Mountain Conservancy, a non-profit organization, dedicated to preserve, protect, and enhance the South Mountain Reservation through education and public service, along with Essex County Department of Parks.

The event included a wide range of activities for all ages, held throughout the day, at Summit Field, as well as an ultra-marathon that started from the Locust Grove Picnic area.
