The Frostbite Half Marathon, which happens every January, is considered to be one of Starkville's most popular annual events. This year (2010), the marathon has celebrated 25 years of existence, and as always, has attracted hundreds of enthusiastic runners, who were taken on a scenic 13.1-mile course through rolling hills, city streets and parks, which started in nearby Pheba town, the finish line being set at Oktibbeha County Hospital.

 

After the race, the participants were invited at the after-race party, in which they enjoyed free food and beverages, to recharge their batteries and exchange opinions regarding the race.
