Guam – the mysterious island
If you ever end up in the middle of the Pacific Ocean you should definitely look for Guam - a beautiful small island inhabited by Chamorros - full of legends, spirituality, natural grandeur and historical landmarks like the remains of Spanish buildings, the Plaza De España and the stone bridges in Guam’s capital, Hagåtña.
The main tourists attraction here are the water activities, which you can have plenty of given the perfect weather, the sandy white beaches and the warm turquoise water - you can rent bungalows for banana boating and kayaking, you can go snorkeling or scuba diving, deep sea fishing, or even explore the ocean in a submarine. Of course, there are also the options of getting a full-body massage at one of the local Spas, or just sunbathing and relaxing on the beach all day, waiting for the stunning orange-pinkish sunsets to set the mood for the night ahead.
This romantic island is also a popular destination for couples who wish to say “I do” in a more exotic set up. Guam offers churches, chapels, resorts and all sorts of natural environments for the perfect fantasy wedding.
Another thing to die for here is the local food. Guam is a heaven of delicacies – plenty of fresh fish, octopus, and lobster that are either grilled or baked with vegetables or fruits. Yum!
As for nightlife fun, Chamorro Village offers family fun activities and Tumon is the place to be for bars and clubs that offer live music, lounge singers and DJs.
Already thinking of visiting Guam? Maybe even study here? Well a great choice would be the University of Guam that has a wide range of majors to offer but is especially strong in the marine biology department. Just imagine all those “live” laboratory classes!
