The closest major airport is Pittsburgh International Airport, located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, about 91 miles from the center of Frostburg, MD.
Frostburg's public transportation is reduced to a public shuttle running 3 times/hour around Frostburg State University campus, during the day, switching to once an hour connecting campus to the stores in La Vale, in the afternoons and evenings.
But the city's lack of public transportation is not considered a vacation down-side, because, due to its reduced size, one can easily get around by walking, a walk between any of the city's points being typically within 20-60 min.
Although, Frostburg is very `walkable`, to make the best of your stay in the city, renting a car is considered the most `comfortable` getting around option.
