- Pineola Farms, which consist of 12 picturesque acres of gardens, lawns & pecan orchards, the 1865 plantation home and a 1930’s fully restored cotton barn.

 

The Barn was built in 1930 on the East side of Taylor's Mill Road and moved to its current location in 2006, one year later being totally restored.

 

The Barn consists of 2100 square feet in the main room with an additional 1050 square feet containing the serving kitchen, restrooms and green room, and it is considered to be one of Middle Georgia's most unique event facilities.

- Massee Lane Gardens, home to one of the world's finest collections of camellias, spreading on a nine-acre area at Massee Lane, historic home of the American Camellia Society, located five miles south of Fort Valley, on Hwy. 49.

 

The Abendroth Japanese Garden, the Scheibert Rose Garden, and beautiful plantings of daffodils, daylilies, chrysanthemums, azaleas, flowering trees, as well as annuals and perennials add to the year-round beauty of the gardens, considered a ''must'', when visiting Fort Valley.

 

- Museum of Aviation, which can be found in nearby Warner Robins, only 17 miles from Fort Valley, featuring exhibits that include aircrafts from World War II, Korean and Vietnam War, as well as special exhibits such as the Thunderbird Exhibit which has F-16A on display, one of the first F-16s to be received by the Thunderbirds in 1982 when they transitioned from T-38s to F-16s.

 

 

Annual Events

 

The Georgia Peach Festival, which happens in June, is not only the most popular annual event in Fort Valley, but one of the most expected annual celebrations in the state, as well.

 

 

The festival was first held in Fort Valley in 1986 and the idea for it was conceived by by Harold Peavy, to promote Peach County and the peach industry that has contributed so much to the livelihood of the state of Georgia, which ranks third in the nation in the annual production of peaches, with more than 15,000 acres of peach trees yielding more than 1.7 million bushels of peaches annually.

 

 

The purpose of the festival is to honor peach growers for their contribution to the state's economy and to the food industry nationwide, through entertainment and family friendly fun.
