The Annual Stratton Faxon Fairfield Half Marathon, scheduled on June 27, in 2010, is perhaps one of the most popular and favorite annual sporting events in Fairfield.

 

The run, which was named `race of the Month` in a 2008 edition of Runner's World Magazine, is hosted by Fairfield Firefighters and attracts runners, as well as numerous spectators, from throughout the northeast, to Jennings Beach, every year.

 

The main beneficiary charity of the 2010 Fairfield Half Marathon is the Connecticut Burns Care Foundation and The Arthur C. Luf Children's Burn Camp, which is dedicated to help children adapt to their injuries, helping them to reintegrate in their family and community life, building their self-esteem and self confidence.
