WRTA (Worcester Regional Transit Authority) manages the municipal bus system in Worcester. In addition to the intra-city operation, WRTA also connects Worcester with the surrounding Massachusetts communities, operating a shuttle bus between member institutions of the Colleges of Worcester Consortium, as well. The bus station was recently relocated at Union Station, to Worcester Intermodal Center, from where, the Peter Pan Bus Lines, which are based in nearby Springfield, offering travel services to other points in the Northeast.

 

Worcester is served by several interstate highways, including several Massachusetts state highways, among which there are:

 

I-290 - connects central Worcester to I-495.

I-495 - often regarded as the outermost boundary of the Greater Boston region. Worcester is west of I-495, as well as the Central Massachusetts area.

I-90 - the northernmost coast-to-coast interstate, parallels U.S. Route 20 for the most part.

I-395 - begins at Interstate 95 in East Lyme, CT, and ends at Interstate 90 in Auburn, MA, where it becomes Interstate 290.

From Logan International Airport: Head north and turn left toward Hotel Dr. Drive straight ahead and turn left at Hotel Dr. Turn right at Harborside Dr., and then again at Jeffries Street. Take the ramp onto I-90 W, and then take exit 10A, toward US-20/MA-146/Worcester/Providence. Continue to drive straight ahead, and turn left at SW Cutoff/US-20 W. Take the 2nd right onto Greenwood Street and turn left at Upland Street. Turn right at Manor Road, and then again at Pakachoag Street. Continue onto College Street. Holy Cross will be on the right.
